Sports are back (they didn’t go anywhere).

It’s been a minute. Well, many minutes since I’ve last written and yet, sports has occurred. That’s the blessing and the curse of sports, and life, — it keeps on going. So, let’s see, where to start? There is much to catch up on! Sports are way back (as if they ever left).

My favorite thing — baseball — is back! The crack of the bat, endless grizzlies and beers, keeping score, sunflower seeds, boos and cheers. I love to see it. And so far, every team besides the La La Land Dodgers are relatively even after the first three weeks of what is too-long-of-a-season. I live in Pittsburgh, so it is fun to finally see the team invest in talent and watch the city come alive. Finally, I get to see it as a baseball town. Go Buccos!

F1 — also back! Lando Norris is the reigning champion, but his days of celebration are over as he literally and figuratively races to be a winner once again. But Mercedes and Ferrari came to compete this year and it could be anyone’s trophy with all the new rules. Look up my favorite Sky Sports announcer Ted Kravitz and he’ll explain everything to you.

And, Sir Lewis Hamilton and Kim K. are thing. So, yeah.

Golf — also back! I’m aware that there are a lot of Rory haters out there but I am not one of them. Good for him for winning another green jacket. I’m a bit of an anglophile and adore the European Ryder Cup team (don’t take away my stars and stripes). Among McIlroy, I enjoy rooting for European bros Fleetwood, Lowry, and Rose. Don’t worry though, I also am a fanatic for Scottie Scheffler. Gosh, he is so darn good. One day, I want to be half as good at anything as Scottie is at golf.

Madness — March Madness has come and gone. Every year I root for the University of Houston and they always let me down. My men’s bracket busted early but I did pick the South Carolina Lady Cocks to go all the way. They ended up losing to the UCLA Lady Bruins. Congrats to all those who celebrated the madness! ‘Twas fun.

Am I missing anything?

Oh, yeah … ¡Escándalo! New England Patriots head coach, Mike Vrabel and (now former) NFL reporter for The Athletic, Diania Russini, were photographed in Arizona at a hotel holding hands and having dinner. Le sigh. Ya hate to see it. Whatever it is, you hate to see it. Especially for other women reporters out there. But I do love me some tea.

Off to watch the hockey playoffs!

Cheers,
Sarah
